These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of newsripple.life and related services operated by NewsRipple from 111 Middle Road, #06-03 National Design Centre, Singapore 188971. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you disagree, please discontinue use.

1. About our service

NewsRipple publishes news and explanatory articles about Singapore across business, technology, culture, environment, education, and sport. Content is provided for general information. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee completeness, timeliness, or suitability for any particular decision. Professional advice — legal, financial, medical, or otherwise — requires qualified specialists, not news articles.

2. Acceptable use

You may read, share links to, and quote reasonable excerpts from our articles with attribution to NewsRipple and a link to the original URL. You may not:

• Scrape or bulk-download content to republish competing news products without written permission;
• Attempt unauthorised access to our servers, contact form backend, or staff accounts;
• Upload malware, spam, or abusive material through the contact form;
• Misrepresent affiliation with NewsRipple or impersonate our editors;
• Use the site in violation of applicable Singapore law or export controls.

3. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise credited, text, layout, logos, and original graphics on newsripple.life are owned by NewsRipple or licensed for our use. Third-party photographs or trademarks remain property of their owners and are used descriptively in news reporting. Request republication licences at [email protected].

4. Reader submissions

Tips and letters sent via email or the contact form must be truthful to the best of your knowledge. By submitting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to investigate, edit, and publish material derived from your submission with appropriate attribution unless you request anonymity for documented safety reasons. We may decline to publish submissions that lack verifiable detail, target private individuals unfairly, or fall outside our editorial scope.

5. Comments and feedback

At present NewsRipple does not host public comment threads. Feedback received privately may be quoted with permission. Unsolicited bulk mail or automated form submissions may be filtered without response.

6. Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Forward-looking statements about companies, projects, or policies reflect reporting at publication time and may change.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NewsRipple and its editors, contractors, and suppliers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from use of the site or reliance on content. Our aggregate liability for direct damages shall not exceed one hundred Singapore dollars except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify NewsRipple against claims arising from your misuse of the site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights through material you submit.

9. Third-party services

Embedded maps, fonts, and future analytics tools are provided by third parties under their terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages or policy changes.

10. Privacy

Personal data handling is described in our Privacy Policy. Using the contact form constitutes acknowledgement of that policy for data you provide.

11. Corrections policy

We correct factual errors promptly. Editorial judgement calls — story selection, headline framing within accuracy bounds — are not themselves "errors" subject to mandatory revision. Request corrections via [email protected] with evidence.

12. Termination

We may suspend access for conduct violating these Terms or for maintenance and security. Provisions that by nature should survive — intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability — survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections that cannot be waived.

14. Changes

We may revise these Terms by updating this page and the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be noted on the home page. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.

15. Advertising and sponsorship

NewsRipple currently displays no third-party advertising. If sponsored features are introduced later, they will be visually distinct from news articles and labelled according to industry disclosure standards. Sponsorship never buys editorial placement in headline areas.

16. Availability and maintenance

We aim for high availability but may take the site offline for maintenance, security patches, or editorial migrations. We are not liable for temporary unavailability. RSS or API feeds, if offered in future, may change format with notice on the home page.

17. Age requirements

Users under eighteen may read the site freely. Contact form submissions from minors should include a parent or guardian email if the matter requires contractual follow-up.

18. Assignment

We may assign these Terms or site operations to a successor organisation with equivalent editorial standards. Users will be notified of material ownership changes on the home page.

19. Severability

If any provision is held invalid, remaining provisions continue in force. Invalid provisions will be replaced with enforceable terms closest to the original intent.

20. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and NewsRipple regarding site use, superseding prior oral or written understandings on the same subject.

21. Language

These Terms are written in English. Translated summaries for convenience do not override the English version if meanings diverge.

22. Reporting misuse

To report security vulnerabilities or Terms violations, email [email protected] with details sufficient for reproduction. We acknowledge good-faith security reports within five business days.

24. Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later. Waivers must be written and signed by an authorised editor.

25. Force majeure

We are not liable for delays caused by events outside reasonable control, including natural disasters, widespread network outages, pandemic restrictions, or government orders affecting publication schedules.

26. User-generated accuracy

Material you submit must not infringe copyright, trademark, or privacy rights of others. You represent that you have authority to share any documents attached to enquiries. We may refuse attachments that appear executable or suspicious.

27. Linking policy reciprocity

Deep links to individual articles are encouraged. Framing our pages inside another site without permission is prohibited. Automated link checkers may crawl public URLs at reasonable rates; aggressive denial-of-service patterns may be blocked at the network edge.

28. Editorial independence

No advertiser, sponsor, or partner may preview unpublished articles except under written embargo agreements that preserve final editorial control. Terms relating to site use do not create any obligation for NewsRipple to publish submitted material.

29. Electronic communications

30. Interpretation

Headings are for convenience only. Words importing the singular include the plural and vice versa where context requires. "Including" means including without limitation.

31. Survival of terms
